Understanding your plan

NDIS plan management

Your NDIS plan is individual to you and issued by the NDIA, not Goshen. These are ways to manage your funding, not packages sold by Goshen.

Self-managed

You, your nominee or representative pay providers and keep the financial records for your NDIS funding.

Plan-managed

A registered plan manager pays providers and keeps financial records for you.

NDIA-managed

The NDIA pays providers directly. You must use registered providers for NDIA-managed supports.

You may use a combination of management options. Funding must be used for NDIS supports in line with your plan. Ask Goshen to confirm which arrangements we can accept for the support you need.

Applying for the NDIS

Who is eligible?

The NDIA decides whether you meet the access requirements. Goshen cannot approve or guarantee NDIS eligibility.

  • Age

You must be younger than 65 when you apply.

  • Residence

You must live in Australia and be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or Protected Special Category visa holder.

  • Disability or early intervention

You must meet the disability requirements, early intervention requirements, or both.

Disability and early intervention pathways

The disability pathway generally requires a permanent or likely permanent impairment that substantially reduces everyday abilities, affects participation in work, study or social life, and means you are likely to need NDIS supports throughout your life.

Early intervention may be another pathway for permanent or likely permanent impairments, or children with developmental delay, where appropriate supports are likely to reduce future support needs. The NDIA assesses the full requirements and supporting evidence.
